Most of today involved travel. Trains to underground trains to express trains to Heathrow. At least I found some decent food at the airport.
Actually, when I did my first lap around the terminal to pick a restaurant, a liquor store employee handed me a shot of Johnny Walker Black Label, so the airport was completely fine.
Stockholm was selected because of the ease and relatively low cost of flights for each of us to meet there and get to our next destination. I researched the heck out of restaurant options, but that was about all the prep work I did. I also bought a kindle travel guide, so maybe Bill read that?
On the other side of the flight, Bill met me at the luggage carousel. He'd had a much longer day of flying and was looking tired. We hopped the train into Stockholm and headed to the hotel. The rooms at Hotel with Urban Deli are small, but comfortable and stylish. You can tell Bill picked this place because the bed has ground effects.
Bill was kind of dragging, but it was already evening - not the usual day long death march to keep him awake this trip. We headed back out to hit the bar at a restaurant I wasn't able to get reservations at. Turned out that a table for 2 was available thanks to a last minute cancellation. They asked if we would mind a faster than usual service because we were a bit later than the original reservation. This worked great for me as it had been about 7 hours since the eggs royale.
I expect Bill has posted all the food pictures and descriptions. It was all great. I'm so glad we were able to get in and have the full dinner experience. And then we were ready to crash for the evening in our subterranean lair with it's metal pipes and nightclub flair.
