For my last day, I started at Tower of London. The weather was great, meaning I could wander around for most of the day. Not a lot of people were there.
The Tower of London is a castle with different parts built at different times. Royal home, prison, zoo, many things have been here. And adjacent to the white tower, the remains of a roman wall from a previous city are visible.
The Crown Jewels are also saved here, but pictures aren't allowed. They have moving walkways to pull tourists forward, so you can see but not block off the view to them. That's kind of cool.
There's also an armory museum in the White Tower. I think I found Bela's next guns.
And the next damn dragon we'll have to fight.
And some crows live at the Tower. The guards keep their wings clipped so they have to stay. Sadly, I didn't see them getting fed.
After that, I walked through one of the most comment set pieces in Layton Mystery Journey, the Tower Bridge.
That's the quickest way to get from Tower of London to the HMS Belfast, a decommissioned Navy vessel converted to a museum.
This is the most dangerous museum I've ever been in. Tripping hazards everywhere, ladders between levels, and tight spaces abound. Because it's a fucking ship.
Exhibits show creepy zombie crew members at work with typical ship duties. I hope these get upgraded to the less creepy projectors used at Bletchley.
I wandered through the boiler room, engine room, and steering room. No windows in the steering room. They operated based on orders relayed from viewing decks.
All in all, a ton of fun, and I worked up quite an appetite. I found a nearby place with an interesting menu, and ordered seared ostrich carpaccio and a cheese board with a chenin blanc. A nice way to end a nice trip.
